OUR OBLIGATION

Urusharta Jamaah (UJ) was established as a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) with a rescue mission to acquire underperforming assets and revive the financial standing of Lembaga Tabung Haji (LTH) in late 2018. Our main objective is to implement holistic strategies for the recovery and rehabilitation of the assets under our care as well as fulfilling all monetary obligations, namely the Sukuk Murabahah subscribed from that transaction.

We operate independently under the Minister of Finance (Incorporated). To ensure effective management of our portfolio, we have established robust corporate governance policies and a systematic operational framework. 

Our assets are predominantly in equities, which comprises 90% of our portfolio, while the remaining assets consist of properties.

By remaining nimble and responsive to strategic opportunities and potential risks in the market, we aspire to deliver sustainable growth for UJ and contribute positively to economic development.

With numerous assets under our care, we seek to maximise their potential value through substantive Restructuring initiatives, Enhancement activities, and Value-add exercises (REV).

INVESTMENT PHILOSOPHY

We invest strategically in various asset classes within the Shariah-compliant universe to capitalise on risk-adjusted returns. As we move forward, we embark on a journey to promote participation in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) compliant assets.

We actively engage all of our asset companies, alongside UJ-appointed external fund managers and advisors, in charting a steady path to fulfilling our mandate.
